Introducing Olf

Olf Leyinda Mouyaka did not speak a word of English when his family resettled to America as refugees from the Republic of Congo in 2009. He did not know the culture or anyone. Olf joined the Workers’ Education Program as a Teaching Assistant in 2022. Now he helps others learn English! He is also a park ranger for the National Park Service in New Bedford. In addition, Olf is passionate about soccer. He is an assistant coach for the women’s soccer team at UMass Dartmouth. His mother often says, “God always watches over you, and you will be okay no matter what because He has already made a way for you.” One of those ways is helping students learn English at the WEP.
