About Sarah Holmes

Sarah Holmes is a graphic designer from Cape Cod, Massachusetts. She is primarily focused on creating cohesive and simple designs using infographics and typography. She is earning her BFA in graphic design at the College of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Sarah hopes to create calculated, and eye-catching visuals that the public will see and interact with every day.

Statement

For this project I was interested in creating an experience for those who are bored of their current wardrobe and want to opt for something more unique. I decided to create a shopping experience designed for alternative fashion. I wanted to create an app that allows new users to quickly search for styles that may become their new look. For individuals who are already a part of the alternative fashion community, I wanted to allow them to dive in and quickly find any specific style or brand. The goal of the app is to “look different” which we shortened to “look” for the brand name.

My capstone project is the creation of the app look, a shopping app focused on finding and exploring alternative fashion styles. Look is designed to be simple, responsive, and easy to navigate for anyone who is interested in updating their style. For those who are interested in dressing outside the norm, look features clothing from hundreds of brands and dozens of different styles. I hope the simple navigation will allow all users to be bold and shop for their unique new look.
