Biography

Marc Melo was born in Massachusetts, and has acquired a BFA in Animation and Game Arts at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. He has a love and passion for Art and Video Games particularly their ability of storytelling. He hopes to pursue a career in the Game Industry and create visually aesthetic and professional work.

Statement

The Short Animation “You Have a Friend in Me” is an Original Idea I came up with to showcase my knowledge of the Animation Pipeline. The goal behind the Animation is to invoke basic human emotion like empathy. I’ve always felt my favorite Films or Stories were able to make me as a viewer feel a strong emotion, and I would like to do that for other people. I put heavy emphasis on Character Modeling since it’s what I’m very passionate about, but I wanted to show my skills as a 3D generalist with my ability to Rig, Texture, Animate, and Light/Render a scene. I hope to further work on this project beyond school because as I grow as a professional artist I know I’ll be able to improve on it.
