Recycling

Books       Cardboard       Cell Phones       Food       Newspaper       Paper     Printer Cartridges

Recycling reduces the amount of waste dumped in landfills by re-using materials that have already been manufactured. This re-use conserves natural resources and energy that would have been necessary to create new products.

UMD Recyclesis the on-campus recycling group run by two student recycling coordinators and a team of work-study students. By selling recyclable goods, the group generates small profits to support recycling programs on campus. By encouraging environmental consciousness on campus UMD Recycles aims to enrich the student experience and heighten respect and understanding for the environment.

What is NOT recycled at UMD: Cans, Ceiling tiles, Computers, Flooring, Lighting fixtures, Magazines, Metals, Plastic

Get Involved! To volunteer, inquire about work-study, or with questions, feedback or ideas, contact: UMDRecycles@umassd.edu
