ACT 688: Accounting Analytics - summer

An introduction to the use of data and analytics in accounting. Students will gain an understanding of the tools used to generate predictive analytics and gain insight into how to effectively use accounting analytics to make better decisions. Topics covered include data collection, data manipulation and analysis, financial reporting and analytics, predictive analytics, visualization techniques, and decision-making. This course focuses primarily on the concepts and theories related to data analytics, rather than on the algorithms or statistical math used to implement them. While certain tools may be used to illustrate these concepts, the primary goal of this class is to provide students with an understanding of the fundamentals of data analytics, rather than an in-depth knowledge of the technical details.
