ARH 372: Global Art at the Borders - spring

General Education requirement: Cultural & Artistic Literacy

Examination of contemporary global art and themes of migration, borders, and displacement. We analyze art that invokes, reframes, and challenges our understandings of migration, forced displacement, home, belonging, diaspora, exile, refugee and border crises, and their representation in media. Such issues will be placed in a history of racial, gendered, and economic inequities, colonialism, globalization, imperialism, war, and climate change.
