LAW 703: Criminal Prosecution Clinic - fall

Prerequisite: LAW 521; Pre or Co-requisite: LAW 525, LAW 576 or LAW 620, permission of instructor. Open to third year full time/ fourth year part time.

The Criminal Prosecution Clinic is housed in the Bristol County District Attorney's Office. Clinic students, supervised by a senior District Attorney, spend one semester engaged in the legal work of a prosecutor gaining courtroom, discovery, legal writing, and litigation strategy experience. Students will participate in weekly seminars where they will focus on a variety of topics in criminal law and procedure, evidence, ethics, and practice skills. In addition to the two-hour seminar, students average 10 hours weekly on their case work. Of the 90 credits required for graduation, students are required to earn at least 65 in courses that meet in regularly scheduled class sessions. This course does not count toward the 65 credit requirement.
