NUR 410: Healthcare Informatics - fall

Fundamentals of healthcare informatics concepts and information management in healthcare practice. Healthcare technology trends, contemporary issues, and the role of the nurse in development and evaluation of informatics applications are explored. Topics include a broad overview of consumer health informatics, electronic health records, security and confidentiality, decision support systems, evidence-based practice, quality and patient safety, and standards of practice. Course development guided by the AACN (2021) Essentials of Baccalaureate Education for Professional Nursing Practice and the ANA (2021) Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice.
