NUR 452: Nurs Care of Chronic Illness - fall

Focus on the nurse¿s role in guiding persons with chronic illness and their families through the healthcare experience. The RN student¿s knowledge from nursing theory, clinical practice, and research supports holistic perspectives of the illness experience. Concepts of chronic illness are the foundational knowledge for promoting health within chronic illness. Challenges for chronically ill adults and families in negotiating for care within health delivery systems are explored in relation to patient outcomes.The AACN (2021) Essentials of Baccalaureate Education for Professional Nursing Practice and ANA (2021) Scope and Standards of Practice guide nursing care.
