NUR 565: Mental Health Nurs Practicum I - spring

Prerequisite: NUR 550, 552; Corequisite: NUR 564

Introduction of the role of the advanced practice psychiatric nurse practitioner. This experiential course is the first psychiatric mental health practicum that introduces the role of the advanced practice psychiatric nurse practitioner, and includes completion of 167-180 direct care hours. Under the supervision of a preceptor students will conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and complete diagnostic formulations across the lifespan. Students will begin to develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with clinical faculty and preceptors via face-to-face or telehealth.
