NUR 676: Mental Health Nursing II
Management of complex psychiatric disorders and mental health issues. Current standards of care and knowledge gained form prior courses guide students in assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with comorbidities and complex presentations. Students are introduced to evidence-based biological & psychosocial treatment modalities that reduce risk, promote health, and consider culture, age, physical status, and patient preferences. The multiple challenges faced by advanced practice uses in the provision of care for challenging individuals and families is discussed.
