NUR 679: Mental Hlth Nurs Practicum III - spring
Prerequisite: NUR 676 & 677; Corequisite:NUR 678
Extension of knowledge from previous coursework to include management of crisis and other emergent situations. Students utilize assessment data, evidence-based literature, and clinical guidelines to develop treatment strategies to reduce risk and restore health. Students extend & refine skills, interdisciplinary collaboration & coordination of care with individuals, families, and community resources. Topics of discussion include current mental health policy, the adequacy of community resources, and the advocacy role of the advanced practice psychiatric nurse.
