Dr. Tsekov is an accomplished finance and investment practitioner with senior level industry experience at several large financial institutions across banking and insurance in New York, London and Boston. His industry experience was focused on privates (private equity, real estate, hedge funds, direct lending, venture capital, crypto and digital assets). In his last role prior to his retirement from institutional finance in 2025 ( head of credit risk at a major U.S. life insurance company) he was responsible for generating actionable insights into idiosyncratic risks impacting asset quality and effective portfolio risk management, particularly with respect to exposures to alternative managers and GPs and analysis of bespoke private securitizations.

In addition to his work in institutional finance, Dr. Tsekov taught as an adjunct for over 15 years, most recently at BU and NYU, both at the undergraduate and graduate level. In the past year, he has become actively involved in several financial literacy initiatives, as well as with a community based service organization, where he is a therapeutic mentor of at-risk youth, with specific focus on teaching foundational skills to help achieve financial independence later in life. Dr. Tsekov also volunteers with an elder service organization, which helps senior citizens with money management and avoiding scams.
