Spring 2026 Riyadh Program
We're partnering with Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University to give you the opportunity to experience a dynamic and rapidly changing region while earning valuable academic credit.
Why study in Riyadh?
Within Saudi Arabia, students can explore vibrant cities like Riyadh, the bustling capital filled with innovation and culture; Jeddah, a coastal gateway on the Red Sea known for art, beaches, and coral reefs, with its breathtaking rock formations and ancient ruins; Abha, surrounded by cool mountain air and greenery; and Dammam and Khobar, modern cities on the Arabian Gulf. Beyond the classroom, Saudi Arabia’s central location makes travel easy — from Dubai and Abu Dhabi’s futuristic skylines, to Bahrain’s island charm, Qatar’s cultural mix, Oman’s mountains, Jordan’s ancient wonders, and Egypt’s iconic monuments. This exchange is more than studying abroad — it’s a gateway to discovery, cultural understanding, and personal transformation in one of the world’s most influential regions.
Program details
You'll need to take a full-time course load at IMSIU. A full-time course load is 12 credits (4 classes) for undergraduate students and 9 credits (3 classes) for graduate students. We'll work with you to make sure the courses you select will keep you on track to graduate.
To participate in this exchange, you'll have to apply for a Saudi visit visa. Our International Programs Office will help you through the process. For those who qualify, some of your financial aid could be applied to the costs of the program.
Further details are being finalized. If you're interested in learning more, contact Hanan Khamis, Director of Admissions at hkhamis@umassd.edu by December 9 with what program you're in, if you're an undergraduate or graduate student, and your graduation year.
