Summer Bridge Program

The Summer Bridge Program is a non-credit summer enrichment opportunity designed to help students improve their academic preparedness for college-level course work.

The program is:

  • free: There's no cost for you to participate.
  • flexible: Courses are online, asynchronous, and only a 5-week time commitment.
  • faculty-supported: You'll receive instructional support from UMass Dartmouth faculty.

Depending on your major and placement assessment scores, you may be required or encouraged to participate in the math and/or chemistry programs. You'll receive an email invitation with more details when it's time to register.

The 2025 Summer Bridge program will run July 14 - August 15.

Math

All incoming students must complete the ALEKS math placement assessment which is available through the link in the applicant portal. Students who do not place into the target math course for their major are required or invited to participate in the Math Summer Bridge Program.

The Math Summer Bridge Program sets students up for success by:

  • providing an opportunity to improve your math placement
  • preparing you to master key math concepts
  • empowering you with learning, reasoning, and problem-solving strategies
  • familiarizing you with academic expectations and tutoring services

Students who successfully complete the Summer Bridge Program will be eligible to retake the math placement assessment and potentially advance to a higher-level math course.
