General Education

UMass Dartmouth's general education program is one of the pillars supporting the University’s Commitment to Student Learning. Through these courses, students develop the knowledge and skills to be successful and find meaning engaged in the various communities in their lives.

Gen Ed Program

Students entering the University prior to Fall 2012 will complete the Gen Ed Program.

University Studies Program

Students entering the University starting in Fall 2012 will complete the new University Studies Program. 

Note: Transfer students entering the University in 2013-2014 with 49 or more transfer credits will complete the Gen Ed Program; those with 48 or fewer will complete the University Studies program.
