SPA 307: Trans & Interp in Edu Settings - fall

Prerequisite: SPA 301as pre-req or as co-req or with permission of instructor

Practice-focused course, preparing students to work in K¿12 U.S. educational settings. Emphasis on translation, consecutive interpreting,  IEP/504 meeting protocols, confidentiality (FERPA/Title VI), cultural mediation, working with children and families with limited English proficiency, ethics, and professional practices within school systems.
