On the Spot Decision

Financial aid awards for fall 2024

For the 2024-25 aid year, it will be easier for families to complete the FAFSA with the streamlined FAFSA application. UMassD anticipates sending first-year student awards letters in late April/early May. Returning students can still expect their initial award letters in late May/early June.

School counselors and representatives can schedule on-the-spot decisions with a UMass Dartmouth admissions counselor—available on our campus or at your school for students applying for the upcoming fall semester.

At UMass Dartmouth

In addition to your students meeting with a counselor for a conditional admissions decision, on-campus On-the-Spot Decision Days include a campus tour and complementary lunch at our dining hall.

Fall 2023 dates

  • Friday, November 3
  • Friday, November 17
  • Saturday, December 9

Please contact us at 508.999.8605 to register. If these dates don't work for you, you can request an appointment for your school.

At your school

Prefer for a UMassD admissions counselor to come to your school? Fill out our request form to schedule a visit.

Note: School visits for on-the-spot decisions are only available for schools in New England.

Student checklist

  1. Students should apply via the Common App prior to the appointment.
  2. Transcripts must be available for review.
  3. Encourage your students to complete their FAFSA using our school code: 002210

If students are unable to finish their application before the appointment, we’ll still be able to give them a preliminary decision.

Decisions are made on the assumption that if students apply after the session with the same information provided in the on-the-spot session, the decision will be honored.

Note: We are unable to offer on-the-spots for graduate and online applicants.
