Mario Pereira has been the editor of Tagus Press since 2011. In addition to his role at Tagus Press, Mario is executive editor of the peer-reviewed journal Portuguese Literary & Cultural Studies, published by the Center for Portuguese Studies and Culture at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Along with Regina Galasso (UMass Amherst), he is founder and editor of the book series Translated By, published by Bloomsbury Academic. He worked for a number of years with the New York Review of Books and La Rivista dei Libri. More recently, he served as a judge for the PEN/Heim Translation Fund grants for the 2024 and 2025 cycles and is currently serving as judge for translated literature for the 2026 Mass Book Awards.
