Previously a Licensed Massage Therapist and Health Science instructor, Rachel has been teaching face-to-face, blended, and fully online courses in higher education since 2007. She earned a Course of Distinction award from Massachusetts Colleges Online in 2013 for creating online community and orientation sites for health science programs at Bristol Community College. She established the first paperless community clinic and organized all service-learning events for the Therapeutic Massage and Complementary Healthcare program.
As an Instructional Designer, Rachel has presented at local, regional, and international conferences. Her favorite presentation experience was sharing a method for designing Flipped instruction at the Online Learning Consortium's Accelerate conference in 2016. Rachel is an essential contributor to the planning of UMassD's annual New Approaches to Teaching and Learning conference.
Rachel enjoys providing pedagogical expertise to faculty subject matter experts, enhancing the learning experience for students.
