Introduction to fundamental concepts related to business entity taxation in the United States of America. The course will give students a foundation of income taxation of business entities with a focus on corporations and partnerships. Students will understand the entity tax formula, book-tax differences, nontaxable exchanges, tax paying vs pass through entities and state income tax and sales tax nexus.

Christopher Jacobsen is a full time lecturer of in the Department of Accounting and Finance at the Charlton College of Business. Christopher is also a Massachusetts Certified Public Accountant. Prior to joining the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, he spent 9 years working for CliftonLarsonAllen, LLP in the Audit and Assurance Department. Christopher is also serves as the Treasurer for the Buttonwood Park Zoological Society, located in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
