Conflict of Interest (COI)
A Conflict of Interest (COI) is a set of circumstances that creates a risk that professional judgment or actions regarding a primary interest will be unduly influenced by a secondary interest. In research, a conflict of interest exists in any situation where the researcher has non-public information which can influence the outcome of research thru involvement in the design, conduct, or data/results assessment; does not apply to independent advisories.
