Order of Hearing
Unless otherwise agreed by a majority of the Hearing Panel, a closed hearing will be convened within ten (10) business days after the Hearing Panelhas been empaneled by the CRO. The hearing will proceed as follows:
- The Presiding Officer reads the complaint and invites the respondent to admit or deny each allegation.
- Opening statements by the complainant, followed by the respondent(s).
- Presentation of evidence, beginning with the complainant.
- Closing statements by the complainant and respondent(s).
- Deliberation
- Notification of intent to submit written comments must be made within two (2) business days post-hearing; comments are due within thirty (30) business days and will be appended to the final report.
- The panel may establish additional procedural rules, as needed, to meet its mandate.
- After the hearing is completed, the Hearing Panel shall convene for private deliberations to determine if, based upon the testimony and evidence, research misconduct on the part of the respondent(s) has occurred.
