We envision a university where every student is engaged and supported by equitable and effective systems, policies, and resources. Through data-drive innovation and individualized programming, the Office for Student Success will create a campus where every student finds support, builds community, and discovers the confidence to pursue their passions and shape their future.

Six Pillars of Success

At the core of every students' successful college experience are comprehensive and rigorous academics, intentional advising, career guidance, financial literacy education, leadership opportunities, and a holistic approach to wellness. We believe that this framework explores students to become self-sufficient individuals, engaged citizens, and lifelong learners.

1. Academic

From placement assessments to first-year experience curriculum to tutoring and supplemental instruction, we place students where they are ready to learn and assist them throughout their degree path.

2. Advising

Slate for Student Success facilitates integrated support from professional and faculty advisors and campus partners, complementing personalized proactive outreach.

3. Career

We are part of the ecosystem of curricular and co-curricular career exploration, planning, and management that makes career development cohesive and inevitable .

4. Financial wellness

We are partnered with Kindros to develop students’ practical finance acumen through embedded curriculum, workshops, and webinars.

5. Leadership

Whether training and coaching peer mentors and peer assisted learning (PAL) leaders or collaborating with student organizations for programming, we aid students in developing communication, decision-making, and adaptability skills.

6. Well-being

Across the pillars, we focus on students’ sense of belonging, confidence, resilience, and growth mindset to support their overall well-being.
