NUR 215: Foundational Nursing I - fall

Prerequisite: First semester sophomore standing Corequisite: NUR 216

First of the two fundamental nursing courses. The course provides students with foundational knowledge, including clinical judgment and the nursing process, an introduction to holistic health assessment, concepts of nursing, and caring behaviors essential to the application of nursing care to maximize health. The emphasis is on nursing care of the adult experiencing common health alterations. The AACN Essentials 2021 of Baccalaureate Education for Professional Nursing Practice and the ANA Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice 2021 were used to build this course.
