NUR 217: Foundational Nursing II - spring

Prerequisite: NUR 215 & NUR 216 Corequisite: NUR 218

Second of the two fundamental nursing courses. The course integrates concepts from several preceding nursing courses with the addition of new concepts essential to the application of nursing care to maximize health. The emphasis is on the application of the nursing process and nursing care of adults, including caring behaviors that integrate assessment to determine nursing interventions in the face of common health alterations. The AACN Essentials 2021 of Baccalaureate Education for Professional Nursing Practice and the ANA Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice 2021 were used to build this course.
