The course presents the basic tools used in the decision-making process as they pertain to the acquisition, management and financing current and long-term assets. Working capital policies, the time value of money, capital budgeting and debt and equity financing are discussed.

A study is made of the dynamic forces on economic activity. National income accounting and analysis, economic indicators and measures, forecasting for the economy of the firm and problems of stability and growth are considered.

An introduction to computation finance and financial econometrics. The emphasis is on making the transition from the theory of financial modeling to the empirical model using real data. These models include asset return calculations, portfolio theory, index models, the capital asset pricing model, option pricing models, bond valuation and investment performance analysis.
