Honorary Degree Nominations

UMass Dartmouth invites members of the campus community to submit nominations for honorary degree recipients who exemplify the values, mission, and aspirations of our extraordinary University.

Honorary degrees represent the University’s highest distinction. They recognize individuals whose exceptional contributions to society, science, scholarship, the arts, or public service align with UMass Dartmouth’s mission and values. These distinguished honorees inspire our graduates, enrich our academic community, and enhance the University’s reputation.

Nominations using the Honorary Degree Submission Form 2026 must be submitted to the Provost’s Office via email (provost@umassd.edu) no later than February 15, 2026.

Participation in this process is essential. Honorary degree recipients reflect our collective vision, diversity, and values, and thoughtful nominations help ensure the University recognizes individuals whose achievements and leadership will inspire the UMass Dartmouth community.
