Non-degree students

Founders' Scholarship

The four-year scholarship covers full tuition and fees, as well as food and housing for high-achieving first-year students from Massachusetts. Learn more about the Founders' Scholarship at UMass Dartmouth.

We encourage students who are not UMass Dartmouth degree candidates to register for courses as non-degree students.

There are many reasons why a person might wish to take one or more courses at the university without seeking a degree. When feasible, we allow qualified students who are not UMass Dartmouth degree candidates to register for courses as non-degree students. They may register only for courses for which they are qualified and in which space is available. They will be held to a strict limit in the total number of credits for which they may enroll as non-degree students.
