There are multiple ways to fund your research here at UMass Dartmouth:

Fall and spring research grants

The Office of Undergraduate Research is committed to supporting UMass Dartmouth undergraduate students in research, scholarly work, and creative activities. We are pleased to offer small research grants to help offset the costs of performing research projects in all fields. Application deadlines will be announced on the OUR website and through email announcements sent to the campus community, with deadlines for Fall and Spring at the beginning of each semester.

• All UMass Dartmouth enrolled undergraduates are eligible to apply. Be sure to review the instructions and complete the OUR Research Grants Application (DOCX)

Summer research grants

We are pleased to offer competitive summer awards to facilitate the full-time research activity of UMass Dartmouth undergraduates during summer. As with all OUR programs, research is broadly conceived and takes place in any and all disciplines. All UMass Dartmouth undergraduates who will be enrolled during the following Fall semester are eligible to apply.

The deadline for Summer 2024 applications is Monday, March 25 by 5 pm via our@umassd.edu

Research-related travel awards

The Office of Undergraduate Research offers travel awards, which partially cover the costs of conference registration fees, lodging, airfare, and mileage. We also assist students who wish to conduct fieldwork and archival research at an off-campus location. There is no particular deadline for research-related travel awards. Applications are accepted throughout the academic year.
