I. POLICY STATEMENT
All pets brought onto University grounds must be leashed at all times. Dogs, cats and other pets are not allowed inside of any campus buildings, including residence halls and apartments, with the exception of approved Service Animals (anywhere on campus) and approved Assistance Animals (in campus housing only).
II. PURPOSE
The purpose of this policy is to safeguard all persons on campus and protect their freedom of movement, while adhering to both ADA Law and Massachusetts Housing Code.
III. DEFINITIONS
This policy includes all animals and pets of any kind, with the exception of fish, as stated in the Housing and Residential Education Housing Contract.
IV. PROCEDURES
These regulations will be strictly enforced and any pets found on campus in violation will be removed from campus and impounded at the owner's expense. Further, any student alleged to be in violation of this policy will be subject to disciplinary action.
V. RESPONSIBILITY
Student Affairs will be responsible for communicating this policy and for adjudication of violations, when necessary.
