Candidates

I am running for the Student Trustee position to represent not only the student body but also the entire Dartmouth campus community. With my experience serving in numerous public service roles to include my time in service as a military police officer, I understand the importance of clear communication, transparency, and advocating for all those that I represent. I am passionate about bridging gaps between students, faculty, and administration, ensuring that all voices are heard. If elected, I will work to create meaningful change, encourage continuous environments of inclusivity, and contribute to the development of the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth as a whole.

I am running for Student Trustee to represent the Dartmouth campus within the UMass Board of Trustees.  During my 5 years as a PhD student in Fisheries Oceanography at the School for Marine Science and Technology (SMAST), I have been deeply involved in student governance, advocacy, and community engagement.  I served several terms as an elected leader for UMassD student organizations and worked to bring student and staff perspectives to hiring decisions as a member of a faculty search committee.  I have also contributed significantly to initiatives to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion, like our local internship program for traditionally underrepresented students in STEM, and have served as a representative of UMassD on several national and international scientific committees and working groups.  As Student Trustee, I will continue prioritize transparent communication, student engagement, and equitable representation to ensure that Dartmouth students' needs and perspectives are heard at the university’s highest level. I would be honored to serve and appreciate your support!

I am running to be the next Student Trustee because I want to advocate for students, faculty, and staff alike on the highest level possible for us. I want to be able to meet the people who help maintain the UMass system and be a part of the process to make UMass a better university for all students, faculty, and staff. As Student Trustee, I will demonstrate every day that all of UMass Dartmouth know that they will always have someone they can trust to advocate on their behalf and receive information in an efficient manner.
