IAD 414: Professional Practice

Prerequisite: Senior Standing

This course prepares students for entry into the interior design profession. Students explore opportunities in the field, develop a career plan and conduct a preliminary job search. Presentation skills are explored with the development of a resume, cover letters, and interview skills. IDEP (Interior Design Experience Program) requirements and the exam preparation for the NCIDQ (National Council of Interior Design Qualification) is addressed as well as current trends in the practice. Notes: Workload per week: three hours of lecture and three hours of homework. Prerequisite: Senior standing.
