"On the Original Sin of Al"
Prof. Maureen Eckert is a member of the class action lawsuit against Anthropic, and her talk explains the case and its implications. Anthropic was found guilty of using pirated, copyrighted works instead of seeking to license or get permission to use the works of millions of authors. One of them is a member of the UMASS Dartmouth community. Prof. Eckert hopes to present a nuanced approach to the ethical use of LLMs.
