Queer Scholar Luncheon-Cultivating Queer Joy in a Time of Queer Rage: Navigating Burnout, Anger, and Grief in Higher Education
Center for Women, Gender & Sexuality (Campus Center 207)
cwgs@umassd.edu
This presentation contextualizes the too-frequent systemic friction between marginalized higher education professionals/students within the present political landscape surrounding them. Rather than treating "burnout" as an individual failure, this framework positions it instead as an institutional outcome ("burning through"). Within these contesting spaces, we'll examine how "queer joy" becomes a disruptive and radical practice of survival. Format will include conversational prompts for participants to engage with these ideas-- and with each other--throughout the presentation. Lunch provided.
Presenter Dr. Rekha Rosha is the
Program Manager for Academic Advising & Support in the College of Nursing & Health Sciences.
