In this site-specific installation in the CVPA Atrium, outside the CVPA Campus Gallery, the artist Anna Kristina Goransson responds to the monumental texture of Paul Rudolph’s brutalist architecture. Her vibrant, hand-felted wool forms inhabit the building’s grooved concrete surfaces and suspend in mid-air, offering a joyful counterpoint of soft texture and luminous color.
The work was made during the exhibition, Tug and Pull (open through November 30 at the CVPA Campus Gallery), in collaboration with UMass Dartmouth students.
