This is the first workshop in a series of four workshops co-hosted by the Career Center and the College of Engineering to help graduate students as they start their career journeys. This session is focused on building your brand.
Understand the value of networking in building a personal brand and advancing your career.
You will learn what networking truly means, developing meaningful, mutually beneficial relationships, and why it’s essential to start early in this engaging session.
The workshop covers strategies for effective in-person and virtual networking, crafting a strong elevator pitch, and making impactful first impressions.
Students will also explore how to use LinkedIn not just for job searching but for building connections, gaining industry insights, and enhancing professional visibility. Key resources like Handshake, CareerShift, and sample outreach messages will be shared, along with communication tips and etiquette to support confident, authentic networking.
