Partial abstract: Microplastic pollution is a critical global environmental challenge, impacting marine ecosystems, human health, and coastal economies, particularly in vulnerable regions such as the Caribbean and developing countries. Defined as plastic particles smaller than 5mm, microplastics are difficult to remove and can easily enter food chains and water systems.
