Last year the University engaged with Rankin and Associates to conduct a campus climate survey to assess how all members of the campus community experience learning, living, and working at UMass Dartmouth. The survey results yielded many suggestions for how we can enhance the campus climate at UMass Dartmouth such as implementing an employee wellness program aimed at addressing stress, burnout and increasing work-life balance. In response to this and with support from the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) we are pleased to offer a series of wellness and professional growth opportunities for faculty and staff which will be facilitated by two renowned speakers who bring unique perspective and expertise to their workshops.

UMASSD WALKING CLUB

The UMassD Walking Club is back by popular demand!  Join us daily at noon starting on Wednesday, December 6.  Let’s take some time to incorporate wellness into our workweek. Walking can energize the workday by reducing stress and building strength, energy, teamwork, and morale.  We will meet at the Library patio for a short walk around campus.  We look forward to seeing you there! 

SUMANA JEDDY

Sumana is a workplace wellness trailblazer, founder and CEO of Jeddy Wellness and the Workplace Wellness Collective.  With a Master’s in Public Health and a Bachelor’s in Microbiology from the University of British Columbia, Sumana combines scientific expertise and a unique perspective from her years as a Surveillance Scientist and Manager of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology.  Her passion for combating burnout has led her to establish Jeddy Wellness, offering practical and playful wellness strategies that bridge the gap between research and practice. 

Future sessions include:

  • Wed, May 22 from 1:30-2:30pm - Employee Benefits via Zoom
  • Wed, June 12 from 1:30 – 2:45pm - Staff Choice/Building a Strong and Inclusive Community in person in the Library Grand Reading Room
  • Thurs, June 20 from 1:30 - 3pm – Community Experience via zoom
