Student Clubs & Orgs Brand Guide

The UMass Dartmouth brand is about our commitment and our community. It's how we talk about the university and the opportunities. It reflects who we are. This student style guide will help official student groups create an authentic brand identity and stay within our established brand guides.

Naming your club

Do use the words UMassD or UMass Dartmouth in the club or org name.

Creating your logo or wordmark

  • Do not incorporate elements of the university brand such as the logo, UMass "UM" graphic, wordmark, spirit mark (Arnie), or the Commonwealth of Massachusetts state seal. Learn more about trademarked, university brand elements.
    • Additionally, pieces or copies of these brand elements are not permitted for use.
  • Logos should be designed to look clearly different than the UMass Dartmouth, colleges, or centers logos.
  • The type treatment of the UMassD name should be clearly different from the UMassD logo.
  • Do not integrate college-level, center, or official UMassD logos in student organization logos.

Merchandise and usage

On merchandise, visually separate the UMassD, UMass Dartmouth, or college logo from the club or organization logo, i.e., on the sleeve or opposite side of the shirt on which the student club or org name or graphic appears.

Use a branded flyer or poster template with the UMassD, UMass Dartmouth, or college logo in the footer, separate from the club or organization logo.

University Marketing provides a variety of branded templates created in Canva.
