29th Annual Quarters for Christmas sponsored by the UMass Dartmouth Police Department and UMass Dartmouth Dining - Chartwells to be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2026 from 10:30 am - 1:30pm in the Campus Center Commuter Cafe. The 29th Annual Quarters for Christmas event is a long-standing tradition with the UMass Dartmouth Police Department and UMass Dartmouth Dining Services. The purpose of the event is to raise money that will be used to purchase toys for local children's charities. We raise money in two ways - the first is to sell hot dogs with unlimited toppings for just 75 cents each. We also sell drinks and bags of chips while supplies last. The second way we raise money is by collecting donations on the quarter line. A strip of tape is placed along the railing near the hot dog sales. For those who may not want to purchase a hot dog, this is a way for people to contribute to the fund raiser. In years past, the quarter line would stretch almost the length of the railing! We have raised over $25,000 over the years for this event. Toy donations will be accepted.
