Are you interested in data or do you have a project coming up that will involve data analysis? Join us for this overview workshop of a database management system (DBMS)! DuckDB is fully open-source under an MIT license and its development takes place on GitHub in the duckdb/duckdb repository. It has no DBMS server software to install, update and maintain which results in high speed data transfer to and from the database. Because of the simplicity in installation and lightweight nature of DuckDB, it is notably portable and can be compiled for all major operating systems. DuckDB may be used for interactive data analysis by a user such as combining and analyzing CSV files of climate data. This workshop will give a general overview of DuckDB and present some of the resources available for accessing it and learning how to use it. Pizza will be provided! Please register in advance.
