Research to Practice Seminar Series ~ Enhancing Teaching with Technology: Designing Impactful Canvas Pages and Productive Pedagogies
Struggling with Canvas? Building new /updating your courses? This workshop focuses on practical approaches for using emerging technologies to strengthen course design and communication. Facilitators will demonstrate how faculty can use digital tools—such as AI-supported features within Canvas—to organize content more clearly, improve accessibility, and create learning environments that better respond to students’ needs. The emphasis will be on pedagogical intention, transparency, and ethical use of technology in teaching. Participants are encouraged to bring their own syllabi and experiment during the session—learning how to translate course materials into effective Canvas formats while exploring how AI-supported tools can assist in organizing, refining, and enhancing course design. They will also explore methods for developing concise, engaging summaries of their work and talks, helping them communicate ideas more effectively across academic and public audiences.
