SMAST E 101-103 and via Zoom
Abstract:
The Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries monitors the spring migrations of River Herring, American Eel, and Rainbow Smelt each spring to generate indices of abundance and support management and restoration decisions. However, these are all data poor species that do not have formal stock assessments or detailed metrics of population demographics. This presentation will describe DMF's role with diadromous fish monitoring and management and provide results for each species of monitoring on their spring migrations in coastal rivers of Massachusetts.
