Biography:
Dr. Christos G. Papakonstantinou is Associate Professor of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
He received a B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece, a M.Sc. from the University of South Carolina and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the Rutgers University. His area of expertise is Engineering Materials and Structural Engineering.
Dr. Papakonstantinou worked in seismic structural design of reinforced concrete , rehabilitation and remodeling of existing buildings. He supervised construction of several new reinforced concrete buildings, as well as rehabilitation of old structures.
He is the author of several research papers published in national and international engineering journals in the area of Structural and Materials Engineering.
Dr. Papakonstantinou is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), American Concrete Institute (ACI), Society for Advanced Materials and Processing Engineering (SAMPE) and Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE).
