Biography:

I am currently a Full Professor of Electrical Engineering (effective September 1998). I joined the faculty of UMD in Fall 1982 making it a total of 15 years of full-time teaching (doesnt include sabbatical leaves during the 1991-1992 and 1998-1999 academic years). My highest degree is a Ph.D. in electrical engineering received from New York University (NYU) in 1972. My area of research interest is linear time-varying discrete-time systems and associated signals. My recent publications dealt with the representation of discrete-time signals as time-varying difference equations, the realization of irrational transfer functions, and the synthesis of transient processes by exciting linear time-varying systems with orthonormal random inputs. In the past six years I have been on the Executive Committee of the Providence Section of the IEEE serving during that time as a regular member (2 yrs.) , Secretary (2 yrs.), and Chairman (2 yrs.).

Areas Of Interest:

  • Digital signal processing (DSP)
  • Linear discrete-time systems
