Named for the Robert Karam Campanile, around which so much of UMass Dartmouth's teaching, learning and discovery occurs, the Campanil-E keeps alumni, faculty, students, staff and friends up-to-date on our regional, national and global impacts of our ever-evolving campus and the issues affecting us.

Green Energy Company Teams with ATMC and Student Interns

GreatPoint Energy, Inc., the developer of a proprietary process that converts coal, biomass and other materials into clean natural gas is utilizing UMass Dartmouth's highly sophisticated, 60,000 square foot Advanced Technology and Manufacturing Center (ATMC) in Fall River to continue development of its technology and has created 20 internship positions for engineering students. The collaboration, in combination with GreatPoint Energy's commissioning this month of the Mayflower Clean Energy Center, a first-of-a-kind gasification demonstration plant in Somerset, signifies the Company's commitment to make Massachusetts a major center for clean energy technology research and development. Bristol County Savings Bank Supports Campus Mentor Initiative

The Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation announced today a three-year $30,000 grant to UMass Dartmouth to expand a program that matches university students with New Bedford public school students to encourage leadership, educational attainment and community service. More

Two Corsair Coaches Notch 500th Victories

Two University of Massachusetts Dartmouth head coaches achieved milestones within a few days of each other recently. Head hockey coach John Rolli won his 500th career game when the Corsairs won at Johnson & Wales in the final game of the regular season, and head men's basketball coach Brian Baptiste earned the 500th win of his collegiate coaching career when UMass Dartmouth defeated UMass Boston in the first round of the Little East Conference tournament at the Tripp Athletic Center. Rolli is now 500-135-23 in his 25th season at UMass Dartmouth, while Baptiste is now 500-213 in his 26th year. More
