Join the CITS Student Internship Program

  • 3 hour commitment each week
  • 3pm–4:30pm, Mondays and Wednesdays (except holidays)
  • September 26 through December 5
  • Open to all majors
  • Freshmen full-time students only

CITS Internship schedule of events, fall 2011

September 26: Kickoff Week

Meet your fellow participants and the staff who are organizing the program. Learn about the weeks ahead.

October 3 & 17: Hardware/Software (2 weeks)

Experience the work environment of the IT Service Center for Faculty and Staff. Remove PC viruses, install RAM, and learn how support works on campus.

October 10: Office of Student Engagement & Leadership (OSEL)

Learn about the opportunities available to you through the Office of Student Engagement & Leadership (OSEL).

October 24 & November 7: Learning Space Operations and Instructional Development (2 weeks)

Experience the operations of the public lab environments, and learn about online courses and support.

October 31: Security Week

Understand computer and internet security and how to avoid phishing scams.

November 14: Learning Commons and Networking/Telecom

Participate in the functions of our hub for student technical support, the Learning Commons Service Desk. Investigate the campus network and phone system.

November 21: Academic Resource Center

Learn how to get academic support for your coursework through the Math and Business Center, the Science and Engineering Center, and the Writing and Reading Center.

November 28: Application Training

Learn the ins and outs of Microsoft PowerPoint.

November 30: Assessment

Tell us about your experiences in the program.

December 5: Banquet
