Contemporary Brazilian Queer Women Songwriters: Identity and Resistance

Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 5:00pm to 6:30pm

Join us for an engaging talk that explores how contemporary Brazilian queer women songwriters use music as a powerful tool for self-expression, identity-building, and resistance. Through lyrics, performance, and cultural context, this presentation highlights how these artists challenge gender norms, amplify queer voices, and transform personal stories into collective political expression.

Hosted by the Lusophone Student Union in collab with the Sapphics Society Club and the Center for Women, Gender & Sexuality.
