Sustainable Movie Night "Dark Waters"

"Dark Waters" follows Robert Bilott, played by Mark Ruffalo, a corporate defense attorney who becomes embroiled in a case against DuPont, a major chemical manufacturer. The story begins when Bilott is approached by Wilbur Tennant, a farmer whose cattle are dying under mysterious circumstances. As Bilott investigates, he uncovers a shocking history of pollution involving perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), a toxic chemical used in the production of Teflon, which has contaminated the water supply in Parkersburg, West Virginia. The film dramatizes Bilott's relentless pursuit of justice, highlighting the personal and professional risks he faces in exposing the truth about DuPont's practices.
